Miss Kent
Welcome to Miss Kent's classroom page! Just a little about me- I am originally from Benkelman, Nebraska, where I attended Dundy County Stratton High School. My parents have both retired recently from working at DCS Schools. My older brother Matt is the superintendent at Amherst Public Schools, my older sister Mollie is a traveling surgical nurse, and my younger sister Nicole is currently attending UNMC. I also have 4 awesome nephews (Owen, Dominic, Ben, and Jake) and 2 adorable nieces (Lexa & Emma), all of whom I love to spoil!!
I attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and a minor in music. While in college I was involved with the Cornhusker Marching Band as a tuba player. Through the marching band and pep band, I was able to travel to 3 Husker football bowl games, various Big 10 away football games, 2 Husker volleyball national championships and one Final Four appearance, and various trips around the country to Big 10 Basketball tournaments. I was also involved in Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary band fraternity, along with various honor societies within the College of Education. In 2023 I received my masters degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Curriculum & Instruction through Wayne State.
This will be my 6th year as a teacher. I am the Head Junior High Volleyball Coach and Head 8th Grade Basketball Coach, and I love all things sports (especially the Huskers). I also sponsor the Student Council. I'm looking forward to another great school year with the students and staff at Lakeview. Go Vikes!
