Lakeview Community Schools District Office
Find Your Beginning
Our Elementary Schools
Lakeview’s District supports two Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary schools. Platter Center Elementary is located in Platte Center, just 9 miles northwest of Columbus on Highway 81. Shell Creek Elementary is a double track, K-6 school located 3.5 miles northeast of Lakeview Junior-Senior High in rural Columbus. Both Elementary schools have an outstanding staff with a united vision for academic excellence and social development for their students. Lakeview Community Schools boasts of its collaborative environment among staff. Together, the strengths, knowledge, and experiences of the elementary teachers and secondary teachers are shared to create the best possible educational environment for students. Our educators work together to identify essential standards, create common assessments, and analyze student data to improve instruction.
Students are exposed to opportunities in the fine arts and are challenged daily as they grow in a structured yet engaging environment.
If parochial school is preferred, Lakeview is also affiliated with two K-8 schools north of Columbus, Christ Lutheran and St. John’s Lutheran.
Conquer Your Future
Course Offerings
Lakeview Junior-Senior High is rooted in building a strong foundation in academics, character, and mindset for our students. Simply put, Lakeview has the best of both worlds. Lakeview supports a small school environment where students feel safe, connected, and involved, yet offers the curriculum, programs, and activities much larger schools often provide. If you decide to attend Lakeview we are confident you will find your fit!
Lakeview’s location from Central Community College also allows us to harness the potential for Lakeview students to conquer their future! Lakeview has a long standing relationship with Central Community College.
Lakeview’s Conquest Program-provides students the opportunity to take dual credit classes at Lakeview or if students choose to broaden their horizon they may participate in the college release program, where students take college level classes at CCC. Our outstanding partnership with CCC allows us to create flexible scheduling for students. We can assure you if you want the opportunity to “conquer your future” like a true Viking, then Lakeview Junior-Senior High is the place for you!
If your focus is hands on education then Lakeview can provide you the curriculum you’re looking for. Lakeview is well-known for its Ag and FFA programs. Animal Science, Horticulture, Landscaping, or Precision Ag-if agriculture is your thing, Lakeview provides options. Lakeview also offers a strong Skilled and Technical Science program which covers a broad scope of skills from small engine repair and metal fabrication to wood-working, construction, basic electronics and robotics. If hands on education is what you are seeking then get your gloves on and let’s go to work!
