By Laws and Rules for the Lakeview National Honor Society:
The Lakeview Chapter of the National Honor Society is an organization designed to recognize outstanding students at Lakeview High School and to encourage hard work and excellent behavior. The Chapter is duly chartered and affiliated with the national organization. The Lakeview Chapter hereby follows the National Honor Society Constitution. Please click on the link above (Constitution) to answer any questions you may have about the National Honor Society and our local chapter's by laws and rules.
Membership is open to juniors and seniors who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: Service, Leadership, Scholarship, and Character. Students who have at least a 93% cumulative GPA may submit an informational form which outlines the activities the student has participated in which demonstrates their character, leadership and service. ** In order to be eligible for application candidates must have been in attendance at the school the equivalent of at least one semester.
The Principal will appoint a Faculty Council composed of five members of the school's faculty who may serve consecutive terms. The five member Faculty Council evaluates the student informational forms, and the data provided by all faculty. Using this information the faculty council will then select the students they feel best demonstrate the required characteristics of the National Honor Society. The group’s faculty advisor is not allowed to vote on any issues surrounding the organization.
Current student members who fall below the standards by which they were selected may be removed from the organization.
Questions about the organization should be directed to the chapter advisor, Ms. Ashley Arlt.
Submitting Informational Forms:
Each year in Spring the Lakeview NHS Chapter advisor will communicate through the use of daily announcements and student email that students who meet the requirements for NHS may fill out an informational form and apply for NHS. Students who are currently Sophomores and Juniors who meet the requirements may apply. Students must have at least a 93% overall GPA to be eligible for membership. Students who do not complete the form will not be considered for membership. The link to the NHS informational form is below. Please read and follow the instructions for submitting the informational form.
In order for the Faculty Council to know more about you and your activities, they are asking you to fill out a student information sheet. The information you provide on this form will help them to make decisions about who would be the best candidates for membership. Return your sheet to Ms. Arlt by March 3, 2023. The Faculty council will then meet to determine who best matches the characteristics required by the NHS.
Please click on the following link for your NHS application. Once you click on the link it will take you to a Google Doc application form which asks you to "Make a Copy". Click on "Make a Copy" and create your own copy of the NHS application form that you can fill out. If you need assistance, please visit with Ms. Arlt.
