The Lakeview Community School District functions under the direction of a school board of six members who are elected by district patrons. Each board member serves a term of four consecutive years, with three members elected in November of each even-numbered year. Thus, terms for three members overlap with the other half of the board for two years. The newly elected members actually begin their terms the following January when the new president, vice-president, and secretary of the board are elected.
The board meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 8:00 p.m., except for January, February and March which are at 7:00 p.m. Lakeview's library media center is the location of the board's meetings.
