March Board Report
Lakeview FFA Update
National FFA Week
National FFA Week was a huge success for our chapter. We held events including elementary visits, FFA breakfast, cornhole knockout, and a canned food drive. Each day members participated in events during Viking Time. Through this, our chapter was able to have fun, while becoming closer. For our monthly community service, we held a canned food drive during the week. Members brought many canned goods to be donated to the food pantry. This week gave our chapter a chance to celebrate the awesome organization that we are all a part of.
The Tuesday of National FFA Week the chapter held a unique ag advocacy event. The week prior members developed educational games for varying grade levels. Then, members traveled to all district elementary schools and spent time with each grade. This event was part of the Connecting Chapters program our chapter partakes in. Through this, members were able to educate youth about agriculture, and how it plays into their lives, as well as inform them about FFA.
Friday the 22nd, our chapter held its annual member and supporter appreciation breakfast. The officer team arrived at school early in the morning and began cooking a delicious meal for all. We served pancakes, casseroles, sausage, donuts, and fruit. We hosted a great turnout and served over 150 guests. Thank you to all who helped make this day a great success.
On March 5th Lakeview FFA members competed in District Career Development Events at Central Community College. Our chapter took 10 teams. We had a fantastic showing and qualified 8 teams for state! The two teams that did not qualify are alternates for state contest, and only lost their contests by one point. Members will continue studying and practicing for state contest in April.
